Alan Brazil has made an astonishing claim regarding Brendan Rodgers' happiness at Celtic.

The Hoops-daft radio host this morning stated that he's heard 'rumours' about the Irishman's frustrations in the job at Parkhead.

The talkSPORT presenter admits he's worried that Rangers could reel the champions in as the title race heats up in the Premiership.

However, his co-host Gabriel Agbonlahor did try to cool his concerns after asking when was the last time the Ibrox side managed to inflict defeat on Celtic.

Of course, that came in the post-split fixtures last season. Michael Beale's men beat Ange Postecoglou's side 3-0 at Ibrox.

Just five points separates the teams at the summit of the table, with Rangers holding a game in hand over their arch-Glasgow rivals.

New Ayr United boss Scott brown appeared on their show this morning. He will lead the Championship side out at Ibrox on Saturday, February 10 in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.

And this led to Brazil saying: “Big game coming up at Ibrox. And I tell you what, I hope it’s not true but there’s one or two rumours coming out of Parkhead that Brendan isn’t happy with a couple of things.

"This is only rumours by the way Gabby but the pitch isn’t up to standard, he wants more players, needs money for players that’s not being given and by all accounts he’s very angry about it."

Agbonlahor then queried: “They’ve got the players though, haven’t they? They’ve got a good squad.”

Brazil said: “If – I’m saying if – Rangers could beat Celtic at Ibrox then it’s game on.”

Agbonlahor replied: “When is the last time Rangers beat Celtic because whenever I watch it Celtic always win?”

Brazil said: “It’s not years and years ago. This is serious. Everyone thought, as Ally McCoist said, it was all over when you beat us at Parkhead. Is it? Celtic have dropped a few points and if Rangers can beat Celtic it at Ibrox then it’s game on. I promise you.”
