Alfredo Morelos’s agent has blasted the ‘comical’ decision to book his client for a ‘dive’ and insisted the striker is treated more unfairly than other players.
Michael Gorman of World in Motion criticised referee John Beaton for the decision as Gers beat Livingston 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Morelos went down under a challenge from Livi keeper Max Stryjek in the first-half but Beaton blew for a booking for the Colombian.
And Gorman was livid, taking to social media to bemoan the decision and praise his player for the restraint he showed.
He tweeted: “At this point, it’s almost comical.
"SPFL referees clearly treating Morelos unfairly in comparison to other players. Incredible restraint shown by Alfredo to not lose his cool after the terrible call.”
Morelos’ manager Steven Gerrard also lost his cool at half-time when he approached the whistler over the call.
The boss was shown two yellow cards in quick succession and forced to watch the rest of the game from the stands.
He now faces a touchline ban.
