We've been to Parkhead to speak to shocked Hoops fans about the news today. This is what they had to say:

Mick Shearer, 56

I personally don’t think it’s the right time for the club or for him. He could be ruining his rep with the Leicester job and it could bee very risky. I’m just really surprised.

loads of people should be interested in managing this club. Big names would be interested and loads of requests should be flooding in. Neil Lennon could be a care taker for the club in the meantime which will keep the fans on their side. It’s a clever move. It will be a good tactic to offer a lot of salary to another potential manager who has a big name.

I think it’s a good move, poor timing but it’s a good move. He needs to up his game.

I don’t know who will be the next club manager, it could be Neil Lennon but I don’t think that it is a smart move.

Michael Waugh, 35

I am shocked and very disappointed. He should stayed till the end of the season. Rodger said he was a Celtic Supporter and he then just leaves. I don’t think that’s fair on the club.

Glasgow Times:

I would want Neil Lennon to be the next manager, he left Celtic a year ago and if he had a chance to take it, I’m sure he would.

Bridget, 49

I am utterly shocked. Did not see it coming. I thought he would be here for the treble but he should have stayed till the end of the season at least. I’m in denial until it happens.

I see Steve Clark has the next manager, Neil Lennon has been there and done it. Clark should take this one despite doing a good job in Kilmarnock.

Grgo Andric, 26

I am a big football fan, but I can’t believe he was a formal coach for Liverpool and leaving the English premiership. When you put everything on a scale, it is hard for him.

Glasgow Times:

It’s hard to say but I don’t think it will be Lennon as much as people anticipate it to be. I honestly don’t know.
