999 crews were called to a Glasgow park after a man collapsed.

He was taking part in a 3k course at Glasgow Green on Saturday, April 27 when he became unwell.

Organisers of the monthly event confirmed he was now 'recovering' after paramedics 'quickly' got to the scene.

A nearby defibrillator was also used in the incident.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Thanks to all who took part in 3k on the Green today, with over 100 entrants.

"Some of you may be aware that one of our runners collapsed shortly after the finishing line. We are pleased to say that he is now recovering in hospital.

"We are grateful for the quick thinking and response of many of our participants who assisted at the time together with the Glasgow ambulance and paramedics who were quickly on scene.

"The incident demonstrated the value of the defibrillator at the nearby Glasgow rowing club boathouse.

"The race report and results have been delayed.

"Thank you for your patience and understanding."
