A major road near Glasgow has been CLOSED due to an ongoing emergency incident.
Traffic Scotland has said the A725 at High Blantyre has been shut in both directions currently.
It has been closed due to a vehicle fire in the area.
999 crews are at the scene, while the road firm has said there is 'heavy smoke' in the area.
It is unknown if anyone has been injured during the incident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The A725 East Kilbride Road, Blantyre is closed in both directions following a fire which was reported to police around 12.40pm.
"Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
