A MASSIVE European retailer will open three new stores in Scotland, with one in Glasgow city centre.

Danish family-owned brand Sostrene Grene will bring its signature Scandinavian-inspired lifestyle store to Buchanan Street later this year.

This marks the second city location, as it previously opened a store in St Enoch Centre.

It offers a selection of homewares, soft furnishings, kitchen products, furniture, gifts, crafts and toys at budget-friendly prices.

Glasgow Times:

No opening dates have been confirmed yet, but Sostrene Grene will also open stores at Bon Accord Shopping Centre in Aberdeen and Waverley Market in Edinburgh in the coming months.

With more than 285 stores worldwide, the company aims to open 500 stores globally by 2027 with a further 50 of these in the UK.

UK Joint Venture partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who run Sostrene Grene stores across Scotland, Northern Ireland and southern England, are excited to announce the upcoming openings.

Glasgow Times:

Norma said: “Following the success of our current Glasgow store, we are thrilled to announce our Scottish expansion with locations in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and a second in Glasgow.”

Richard added: “Scotland is a key focus for us, and we look forward to introducing new and returning customers to our upcoming openings.

"We want to make Sostrene Grene more readily available throughout the country.”

The brand is known for showcasing the Danish concept of hygge through its store layout, experience and comforting products.

Glasgow Times:

Hygge means cosiness and contentment and this is evoked in shops through a labyrinth layout, subdued lighting and classical music

Mikkel Grene, CEO and co-owner of Sostrene Grene, said: "We are really excited for our upcoming expansion in Scotland throughout 2024.

"The new stores will utilise our Retail for the Senses concept, providing our customers with a fantastic selection of products alongside a ‘hygge’ filled shopping experience."
