A busy Glasgow road has been taped off after an emergency incident this morning.

We previously reported the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service raced to Tollcross Road in the city's East End after being made aware of a building blaze.

In total, three fire trucks were originally sent to the scene to tackle the fire.

The service says they were made aware of the incident shortly after 2am this morning (Tuesday, April 1).

Now, shocking pictures have revealed the devastating impact of the blaze.

In the images, the fire appears to have ripped through a building on the street.

Meanwhile, the images also show police have taped off the area, while fire crews also remain on the scene.

Following the incident, First Glasgow has said several of its services are facing disruption.

The travel company's 61, 240, 255, and 263 services are being diverted due to it.

The diversion is via TollCross Road, Braidfauld Street, London Road, Helenvale Street, Tollcross Road, normal route.

Currently, it is unclear if anyone has been injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire is also unknown as well.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a fire at a property on Tollcross Road, Glasgow, around 2.55am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

“There were no reports of any injuries and no criminality has been established.”
