A teenager has been reported after cops shot a dog dead following an alleged attack in East Kilbride.

We previously reported that officers were called to a report of a 'large bulldog-type dog' attacking a Collie dog on Mannering in the town on Sunday, February 18, at around 10.25am.

999 crews then raced to the scene where local cops tried to restrain the animal.

However, armed police attended and the dog was shot dead.

Following the incident, three people were left with minor injuries.

Now, police have revealed an 18-year-old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with offences relating to the Dangerous Dog Act following the ordeal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "An 18-year-old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with offences relating to the Dangerous Dog Act."

Meanwhile, an investigation was also launched to establish the breed of the dog and there will be a continued police presence in the area.
