Glasgow trains could be cancelled today due to a fault near the depot.

The fault has occurred within a set of points affecting trains leaving the Shields depot on Thursday morning.

Engineers have been called out to work on the issue but ScotRail warns passengers and commuters that services to and from Glasgow Central may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Anyone travelling to or from Glasgow Central should check their journey in advance.

Network Rail added: "Our engineers are currently working on repairing a fault with the points at Shields Depot. Due to its location, this fault will affect some services coming into and leaving Glasgow Central."

Network Rail issued an update at 11.20am that engineers had fixed the fault and ScotRail added that services were returning to normal.
