Popular attraction GlasgGLOW will be reviewed at a meeting - and you can have your say.

A discussion between the council and West End community groups is scheduled for next week to evaluate the event.

During it, officials will seek to hear attendees' experiences of last year's light show, which took place at the Botanic Gardens in the autumn.

In preparation, North Kelvin Community Council, who are invited to take part, are encouraging locals to share their views.

Christine Alison, secretary of the group, said: "It's a public park and it's for the people of Glasgow to use.

"It's important that we are looking for any comments, positive or negative, to feed back.

"So far, folk are saying they are annoyed about the litter, reduction in public access, parking and expensive tickets.

"But one said 'I quite like the pretty lights and happy kids buzzing around', so that's a positive thing.

"They also said it's good for the local economy."

Anyone with an opinion is urged to email NKcommunitycouncillors@gmail.com in the next seven days.

Members will collect the submitted comments and present them to representatives of organiser itison and Glasgow City Council.

This comes after a meeting last week, where members of the community council decided to release a callout to get an accurate representation of how citizens feel about the show.

A council spokesperson said: “GlasGLOW is an extremely popular family-friendly attraction and the planned meeting is a debrief of last year’s event.

"It is part of our regular community engagement with local stakeholders and involves the council, the event organisers and representatives from local groups such as the community council.”

Last year, the celebration was between Friday, October 27 and Sunday, November 12, with the opening weekend sold out.

It paid tribute to the iconic 80s movie Ghostbusters and took visitors across the park, including into Kibble Palace.
