A man has died following an incident with a massive 999 presence in Glasgow.

Police and ambulance were called to St Vincent Street shortly after 7.40am on Tuesday in response to a 'concern' for a man.

The 69-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, but an investigation has been launched. 

We previously reported that the road was sealed off while officers stood guard and spoke to people on the street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a man on St Vincent Street in Glasgow shortly after 7.40am on Tuesday, 30 January.

“The 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. However, there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 07:40 to attend an incident on St Vincent Street, Glasgow. One ambulance was dispatched to the scene.”
