Emergency service crews raced to Glasgow Central Station yesterday after a 'person fell on the track'. 

The incident occurred at around 11.20pm.

The alarm was first raised on ScotRail's X account where they wrote: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident at Glasgow Central, which is affecting services coming in and out of the station."

The British Transport Police later confirmed that someone fell on the tracks but was later retrieved by officers.

A spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Glasgow Central railway station at around 11.20pm yesterday (27 December) following reports that a person had fallen onto the tracks.

"Officers attended and the person was removed from the tracks."
