Plans were submitted to turn a Glasgow church into a flat.

If accepted, the Christian Science Church, at 87 Berkeley Street in the West End, could become a home.

Applicant Omid Najafian is bidding to create a four-bed residential space with a rear garden.

He has purchased this property seeking a single occupancy development and will not be obtaining a multiple occupancy licence.

According to the documents, the site sits within a B-listed building and has been a commercial property for several years after originally being built as a townhouse.

Glasgow Times:

It has two floors, a basement and a roof.

Currently, it is made out of assembly rooms, a hall, toilets, a classroom, a creche and an office.

The transformation would see these being converted into two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a dressing room.

The existing rear gravel parking area would become a landscaped garden with grass and planters.

Glasgow City Council is considering the application, the last day for comments is Friday, November 17 and a decision is expected by Friday, December 8.
