A gang of youths terrorised staff at a supermarket in a spate of antisocial behaviour.

The group targeted Morrisons Cardonald on Wednesday evening. It is understood they stole items and launched objects at the windows, forcing staff to close the shutters.

In a spate of antisocial behaviour, the force was called to attend a premises twice on Paisley Road West at around 6.15pm and 8pm.

A probe has been launched with officers promising to carry out regular patrols in the area.

Morrisons is working with Police Scotland on their investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, September 20, we received a report of anti-social behaviour involving a group of youths at a premises on Paisley Road West in Glasgow around 6.15pm and 7.55pm.

“Officers attended and there was no trace of the group.

“Enquiries are continuing and there will be regular patrols in the area.

“Anyone with information relating to those responsible is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3563 of Wednesday, September 20.”

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: "I can confirm there was an incident and we are liaising with the police to support their inquiry."
