A woman has been rushed to hospital after a six-car crash on the M8.
Emergency services were called to the motorway near junction 6 at around 7am on Thursday morning.
The incident involved six vehicles and resulted in the road being closed for over an hour.
Officers confirmed that a 38-year-old woman had been taken to hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.10am on Thursday, September 14, 2023, we were called to reports of a crash involving six vehicles on the M8, eastbound near junction 6, Newhouse.
"Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Wishaw.
“The road fully reopened around 8.30am."
