GALASHIELS is in for a two-fold treat during this year's Independent Venue Week celebrations.

Hundreds of smaller venues across the UK will feature supportive bands and artists between Monday, January 28 and Sunday, February 3.

And entertaining the Mac Arts in Galashiels will be an exciting double-bill of the very best in new Scottish music.

The frighteningly-good Bossy Love, who seem to be everyone's favourite new band, are supported by the equally talented Edwin Organ.

Glasgow-based Bossy Love burst onto the music scene just over two years ago.

And ever since, their refreshing, accomplished and highly infectious RnB-infused pop has been winning them fans and plaudits up and down the country.

Amandah Wilkinson and John Baillie Jnr have been described by The Guardian as sounding like 'Prince on a trampoline'.

And their deadly hooks and fearless, anthemic lyrics sitting atop propulsive, rich production has them as radio regulars on 6 Music.

It’s on stage, however, that fans truly get to witness Bossy Love’s magic.

With explosive, searing energy from the very first bar, they command absolute stage presence with the ease, confidence and effortless charm that only comes from years spent honing their skills at the front of the world’s stages.

In other words, an act not to be missed this Independent Venue Week.

Although Edwin Organ may not yet have enjoyed the same exposure as Bossy Love, the Dunfermline synthpop wizard has already accepted invites to play the likes of T in the Park and Electric Fields.

And his terrific EP, Missing the T, with its scattered beats and melodic foundations has been gaining more and more airplay.

A spokeswoman for Mac Arts said: "As part of the nationwide Independent Venues Week 2019 do not miss the chance to see these two incredible acts live."

Bossy Love and Edwin Organ play the Mac Arts on Friday, February 1.

Tickets, priced at just £8, are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/macarts or the box office on 01896 756852.

Doors open at 7.30pm with Edwin Organ taking the stage around 8pm.
