Kirky Picture Palace is hosting a series of film events this month on Kirkintilloch Town Hall.

On Friday, March 15 at 2pm, the venue will screen the classic film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children, with carers allowed in for free.

Another highlight will be a Frozen singalong session on Tuesday, March 26 at 10am which is baby-friendly.

The tickets are also priced at £5 for adults and £3 for children, with under-twos allowed in for free.

Other attractions include Trolls Band Together at 1pm and The Old Oak at 3.30pm on Saturday, March 30.

Councillor Jim Gibbons, chairperson of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust, said: "I'm pleased to see another diverse line-up of movies available for local film fans – including special screenings for people with dementia and carers, and young children and families.

"The initiative is really proving popular with residents and visitors."

Serina Marshall, cinema co-ordinator of the Kirky Picture Palace, thanked the community for their ongoing support and announced that they welcomed new volunteers to join their team.
