The first-ever UK and Ireland tour of acclaimed West End musical, The Drifters Girl, has announced its cast members.

The show will tour for one week only at Glasgow's King’s Theatre from April 9 to 13.

The show, brought together by producers Michael Harrison and David Ian, recounts the tale of one of the world’s greatest vocal groups and the woman responsible for their success.

Taking the lead role of Faye Treadwell, music industry change-maker, will be Carly Mercedes Dyer.

Ms Dyer recently won the WhatsOnStage Award (2022) for Best Supporting Performer in a Female Identifying Role for her portrayal as Erma in Anything Goes.

She was also nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for the role.

Joining her is Ashford Campbell, known for his stint on ITV’s The X Factor with The Risk group, mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos.

He continues his journey with The Drifters Girl after being a part of the West End company.

Jaydah Bell-Ricketts will take on her first-ever touring role as Girl, alongside Miles Anthony Daley, Tarik Frimpong, and Daniel Haswell, each coming from a theatre background.

Completing the cast is Loren Anderson, Tre Copeland-Williams, Ethan Davis, Matthew Dawkins and Linseigh Green.

The show maps the life and career of Faye Treadwell, the manager behind The Drifters who worked for three decades alongside her husband to propel The Drifters from Atlantic Records' vocal group to an international sensation.

The Drifters Girl brings a compilation of well-known songs to its soundtrack including classics like Save The Last Dance For Me, Stand By Me, and Saturday Night At The Movies.

The Drifters Girl is directed by Jonathan Church.
