South Lanarkshire parents with children due to start school this year can begin to register them next week.
Local parents and carers of children who are five between March 1 2024 and the end of February 2025 are required to register their child for school.
As of Monday (January 8), parents can use the catchment area checker to select their preferred catchment school and enrol their child online.
The catchment checker will give you information on both primary and secondary schools.
A child’s catchment school is determined by the home address and on whether they will attend a denominational or non-denominational school.
Once a child is registered, catchment schools will be in touch with parents to discuss their application from January 15 onwards.
