A Denbighshire village has been named as one of the poshest in the UK.
Llanarmon-yn-Iâl has been named in The Telegraph as the poshest village in Denbighshire and is one of only five Welsh villages to make the list of the 54 poshest in the UK.
According to estate agents Savills, there has been a 60 per cent rise in demand for rental homes in the most desirable countryside locations during the pandemic.
Research by Savills, provided to The Telegraph, revealed the most desirable villages in the UK, based on the combination of highest house prices, best lifestyle amenities, connectivity and chocolate-box appeal.
And it was Llanarmon-yn-Iâl that topped the list for Denbighshire.
Explaining the decision, the researchers highlighted the village’s friendly atmosphere.
They said: “A friendly village in the Clwydian Range, Llanarmon-yn-Iâl has a community-run shop and community-owned pub – the Raven Inn – which hosts live music and quizzes and takeaway curry nights.
“There’s a choir and a local panto. It’s only 11⁄2 miles off the Offa’s Dyke Path, which brings visitors to the village.”
The average house price in Llanarmon-yn-Iâl is £290,118.
The other Welsh villages to make the list were Shirenewton in Monmouthshire, Newgale and Roch in Pembrokeshire, Rowen in Conwy, and Oxwich in Swansea.
