The firebug struck last night
POLICE are hunting for a firebug who torched a plush motor in a quiet Lanarkshire street.
The man is said to have targeted a black Mercedes 4x4 on Bankhead Avenue, Coatbridge, a around 8pm.
No one was hurt in the incident but the owner of the vehicle is understood to have been left shaken.
The suspect is described as wearing black clothing. No further details have been released.
Detective David Williamson, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Thankfully the fires were safely extinguished and there were no injuries as a result.
“We are appealing to anyone with information on the incident and to any motorists in the area at that time that may have dash-cam footage."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
