AFTER a run of four consecutive league games without a goal it was great to finally see Morton score again - not just once but twice in a game where we actually played some decent football on the ground.
Unfortunately we lost a late penalty which deprived us of the win and three points we desperately needed in our fight to avoid slipping to the bottom of the league table.
There were definite signs of improvement on Saturday but I remember saying this a few weeks ago at Kilmarnock and that proved a false dawn when we lost the next two games without scoring.
We now move onto the SPFL Trust Cup on Saturday against Montrose where hopefully the boys will try to continue playing football as it should be, with the ball on the ground.
Unfortunately I don’t expect many of us to travel through to Links Park as once again we have a game clashing with a Scotland fixture.
We will drive through for the Morton game and then have to stop somewhere on the way home to watch the Scotland game on TV as there is no way we can get home in time for the Israel game.
