ROADWORKS at the M8 Kingston Complex will continue next week.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing and bridge expansion joint replacements.

Phase one and two of the works were undertaken this week. Phases three and four will commence on Monday, August 9, and are programmed to be complete on August 12.

All works will take place between the hours of 8pm and 6am, each night.

The scheme, with a value of £150,000, will benefit around 145,600 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the structure and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

The work will be carried out using a combination of lane, slip road, and full road closures and will be completed over several phases. The first four phases will undertake resurfacing works only, with joint replacement works planned afterwards.

Phase three takes place on Monday and Tuesday and will affect eastbound traffic. It requires the total closure of West Street on-slip road, a nearside lane closure of the A814 at the base of Stobcross off-slip road, an offside lane closure on North Street from Kingston ramp to St Vincent Terrace, and a nearside lane closure (lane 3) of the M8 across the Kingston Bridge.

This will merge with a total closure of Bothwell Street off ramp.

Meanwhile, phase four takes place on Wednesday and Thursday and will affect eastbound traffic. It requires the total closure of the M8 where it merges with the M74 southbound carriageway and an offside lane closure (lane 2) of West Street on ramp, which will become a total closure at North Street ramp.

Diversions will be in place.
