POLICE believe that a fire at a Glasgow sports complex yesterday evening was set deliberately.
Firefighters were called to Scotstoun Leisure Centre on Danes Drive at around 5.45pm on Wednesday, August 4, after a blaze was reported at the rear of the building.
Thick plumes of smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as flames took hold of bins near badminton courts.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and the fire was safely extinguished shortly after.
Police were also in attendance along with the emergency services.
Officers investigating the fire have confirmed that there were no injuries but say they are treating it as wilful.
