DARREN MCGARVEY has teased the release of a new TV show following his critically acclaimed series Class War.

The Pollok rapper, writer and TV presenter broke the news on his Twitter account yesterday.

The Poverty Safari author is keeping details under wraps but promised it would be as straight-to-the-point as his other small-screen outings.

He said: "Can't say much but series three is definitely happening. And we're taking no prisoners this time."

Class Wars saw McGarvey tackle the British obsession with class and its enduring relevance in the 21st century.

In an interview with our sister title The Herald earlier this year, McGarvey said: "Tremendous effort has been made to flush the language of class out of our lexicons because if you flush the language out then people can’t describe what’s actually happening.

“Then they substitute that with myths about meritocracy, or poverty of aspiration, or social mobility. And these are comforting stories. And sometimes they might actually be real.”

He also revealed it will be the first TV project he will make without his go-to director Stephen Bennett.

McGarvey added: "Bit of trepidation as this will be the first time I'm not collaborating with [Stephen Bennett] who is basically my TV da. He's working on a project on the other side of the world.

"Might get a cardboard cut out of him to leave around on set for emotional continuity."
