RIVERSIDE Festival has confirmed it has the green light to go ahead later this year, with an extra day added to "make up for lost time".
Dancers will be able to enjoy an extra day of the Glasgow electronic music event when it takes stage in September, organisers have confirmed. The lineup includes some of the biggest names in dance music, including Jamie XX, Disclosure, Leon Vynehall, Ben UFO and Floating Points.
For the first time, the festival will be held over three days, going from Friday, September 3 and ending on Sunday night.
It comes after we revealed that TRNSMT was also given the go-ahead by Scottish Ministers, putting the return of large events firmly back on track.
Mark Mackechnie, Festival Director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to finally be given some clear guidance and the go-ahead for the Riverside Festival to take place.
"It’s been challenging for everybody working on the event and also for customers waiting for the event to be given the green light. Now that’s happened we literally couldn’t be happier and we can’t wait to open the gates and welcome everybody down.”
