A WOMAN who coughed on police officers during the current pandemic and laughed about it has been jailed for 12 months.
Emma Tennant, 28, also kicked two constables at Glasgow’s Helen Street police office on June 8 2020.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Tennant was arrested after she went to investigate why officers were at a neighbour’s flat in the city's Nitshill.
Prosecutor Laura Bradley said: “She was taken to the police office and was shouting about coronavirus.
“She said she knew all about it before coughing on four of the officers’ faces in close proximity to them.
“She then laughed hysterically.”

Tennant lashed out to the two officers when they tried to restrain her.
She pleaded guilty to one combined police assault and culpably and recklessly coughing on the officers.
Sheriff Martin Jones QC said: “Custody is necessary and the only appropriate sentence due to your previous convictions.”
