A CYBER attack on a city university's student union caused chaos.
Strathclyde University's student union elections were delayed by the hack which shut down their internet access intermittently for around 11 hours yesterday.
It is not known who was behind the breach but the union said: "This attack targeted the site’s IP address and also affected other institutions around the country using the same provider."

They added that data held by the union was not affected.
The voting timeframe for the student elections has been extended as a result.
Strathclyde University is separate from the students' union and was not affected by the hack.
It is not known if the matter was reported to Police Scotland.
