A MAN attacked his father's partner amid claims she tried to strangle his dog.
Steven O'Reilly, 35, punched and kicked Daniella Hughes in North Kelvin Field park in Glasgow's West End last August 10.
The pair had been arguing before Miss Hughes appeared from bushes.
Neil McCulloch, defending, said O'Reilly's mum - a drugs counsellor - had given him a Jack Russell dog before she passed away from cancer.

The lawyer said: “He claims Miss Hughes - his dad’s partner - punched him on the face and head butted him on the nose.
“She let him go but picked up his dog and began to throttle it. He said that this would be upsetting for anyone.”
O'Reilly was jailed for 15 months at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he pleaded guilty to assaulting Miss Hughes to her severe injury.
