A THIEF caught stealing a £3,000 bottle of cognac from a pub he claimed he worked at has been jailed for 15 months.
Alexander Reid, 48, was snared still inside The Citizen Bar in Glasgow city centre last October 22.
Prosecutor Mark Allan told Glasgow Sheriff Court: “He had made his way to the fridges and retrieved bottles of alcohol.
“This included Remy Martin Louis XIII Prestige Cognac - valued at £2,950 - two bottles of Dom Perignon champagne, a bottle of Moet as well as Belvedere vodka.”

Reid - who used a crowbar to get in - was soon spotted by police.
Mr Allan added: “He opened the door and briefly pretended he was a barman before he showed the officers the bag next to the door.
“This was full of the alcohol and he was arrested.”
Reid pleaded guilty to the break-in and was ordered to complete 400 days of a previous sentence before beginning his latest jail term.
He was also put under supervision for seven months upon his release from prison by Sheriff Martin Jones QC.
