A ROBBER snatched almost £700 and a rucksack from a man in broad day light.
John Neeson, 37, pounced on Adrian Ocheudszko in Glasgow’s Tollcross area in November this year.
Neeson wrestled with “courageous” Mr Ocheudszko taking his belongings which included a passport and a money tin.
Neeson pleaded guilty on Wednesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assault and robbery.
He attacked Mr Ocheudszko as he waited on a nearby wall for the pharmacy to open.
Prosecutor Amy Hunter said: “Neeson pulled off the rucksack which was hanging on Mr Ocheudszko’s shoulder by force.
“A witness looked out his window and saw Neeson punching Mr Ocheudszko on the ground.
“He was seen attempting to get possession of the money box and the rucksack.”
Neeson fled the scene but was chased by Mr Ocheudszko who yelled for help.
John McLaughlin, defending, told the court: “He knows this would have been a traumatic and distressing experience for the victim.
“After a bit of a wrestling match, Neeson was able to get the ruck sack but thereafter the victim chased after him courageously and initially cornered him.”
Neeson will be sentenced later this month.
