A driver ploughed into a group of five teenagers in Shettleston in the early hours of Friday morning.

The five men were walking in Killin Street around 12.10am on Friday when a car drove directly towards them. 

A 19-year-olds was hospitalised following the incident which is being treated as attempted murder by police.

The man did not sustain serious injuries and was later released from hospital.

The other four victims, three men aged 18 and another 19-year-old, were not injured in the murder bid. 

Forensic teams were seen at the scene later in the day as police launched a search for the man. 

It is understood the driver was driving a dark coloured vehicle.

Detective Inspector Greig Wilkie said: “Thankfully no one suffered serious injuries as a result of this incident and enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the vehicle.

"Officers are carrying out a review of CCTV in order to establish the make and model of the car, which is described as dark coloured.

“We would be keen to talk to anyone who may have information that would help our investigation or who may have seen anything before or after the incident.
