DETECTIVES are investigating a double stabbing in Rutherglen.

The force revealed that two men had stab wounds following assaults which we reported on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man was assaulted on King Street at around 3.20 pm and around five minutes later a 37-year-old man was attacked nearby in Main Street, near to the Superbuys store.

Both men were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where they were released following treatment.

The area was sealed off as officers launched an investigation.

Detective Constable Derek Young at Cambuslang CID said: “We have very limited information regarding the motive for these assaults and can only describe the suspects as being men in their early 20’s who were wearing dark clothing.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time these assaults took place and may have witnessed the incidents or anyone who may have captured them on their dash cams.”
