POLICE are investigating a dog attack on a young boy near Glasgow.
The force said the incident happened in Kirkintilloch on Sunday. No further details were provided about the location of the dog attack.
It is understood that police were informed of the attack on Wednesday as a post circulated social media warning others.
It is also understood the child, whose age is unknown, had surgery and received over 30 stitches.

A force spokesman said: “Police have been made aware of an incident in which a young boy was injured after being attacked by a dog in Kirkintilloch on Sunday, January 12.
“The full circumstances of the incident have still to be established and local police will be meeting with the boy’s family today, Thursday, January 16, to obtain further information.”
