The body of an 86-year-old man has been found in a Bearsden garden.

Police were called to Jackson Place at around 5.50pm on Friday, following reports a person had suffered injuries.

Ambulances attended, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is currently being treated as 'unexplained' by police, who are now launching an investigation.

A post-mortem is due to take place to establish the cause of death.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.50 pm on Friday, 3 January, 2020, the body of an 86-year-old man was discovered within a garden in Jackson Place, Bearsden.

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which police are treating as unexplained at this time.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
