Go for modern small-plate dining that covers a lot of culinary ground. Chef Jonathan MacDonald runs a lively restaurant that celebrates the best of Scottish produce. They've retained Michelin Bib Gourmand status and have big plans for 2020.

A highly-regarded leader of the Glasgow restaurants new wave, The Gannet has attracted international attention for fine dining in a casual setting. In their element at this time of year with plenty of Scottish game dishes on the menu with winter vegetables. Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year at the Scottish Licensed Trade News Awards.

A compact menu of sharing dishes that changes daily depending on what produce is available. Head Chef Robbie Morrow says: “The style of cooking is very simple, fresh, clean and seasonal". Proving to be a hit on Dumbarton Road. 

4 Gloriosa (down 3)

Rosie Healey, the founding chef of Achemilla, has returned to Argyle Street, with a new restaurant where Firebird once was. Expect immaculately prepared vegetable and pasta dishes at Gloriosa, with traditional fish and meat plates from the wood-fired oven.

Celebrating their 40th year and now about to move into a new era with a small plate dining menu set to be introduced from 14th December, showcasing the culinary traditions of one of the Merchant City's landmark restaurants.

Finishing the year with an Alice and Wonderland themed feast, and consistently attracting diners to their original Argyle Street and new Southside locations.

Korean barbecue and spicy comfort food comes to Partick with this new opening. The original Bibimbap, located on West Nile Street in the city centre, opened in March 2018 and has been a hit with its quirky style and modern Korean cuisine.

The new pasta place from the successful team behind Paesano opened on Monday. A large, modern, stylish dining room, Sugo is a sprawling space where you can watch chefs produce fresh pasta in a buzzy, informal setting. You'll find good quality ingredients and simple presentation.

Still Game’s Sanjeev Singh Kohli and Star Trek: Discovery star Shazad Latif were spotted having dinner at Swadish at the weekend. Head chef Ajay Kumar brings together high-quality seasonal Scottish ingredients with traditional Indian cooking.
