YOUNG patients at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow were treated to an interactive screening of Frozen 2 as their favourite characters from the film surprised them.

The MediCinema at the hospital hosted the special screening giving every child a chance to meet Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. The much-loved characters posed for photos with the youngsters and they received a special Frozen 2 frame to remember the occasion.

Kirsten Sinclair, Chief Operating Officer at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “Being in the hospital during the festive season is particularly hard for children, so this extra special Frozen 2 screening was a wonderful surprise for them to enjoy.

"We raise funds to ensure that our young patients have the best possible hospital experience.

"We are delighted to continue our partnership with MediCinema and are proud to fund this much-loved service at the children’s hospital which is enjoyed by so many of our young patients and their families.”

Kevin Hill, Director of Women and Children’s Services for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, added: “Many of our young patients spend weeks or months in hospital and miss out on a lot of the opportunities that their friends enjoy and take for granted.

"MediCinema gives them the chance to escape the hospital environment and enjoy a few magical hours at the cinema.”

Glasgow Times:

One of the young patients who enjoyed the event was six-year-old Rory.

His aunt Stephanie Wylie said: "After a horrible few months of my nephew Rory being really sick, it has taken its toll on him.

"Being able to attend MediCinema at the children’s hospital in Glasgow was a breath of fresh air.

"The whole event was magical, I could see how hard the staff had worked and how happy it made not only Rory but all the other children.

"The meet and greet with the Frozen characters excited me as much as the children, the face painting, balloon art, gifts at the end, and the patience from the staff were the icing on the cake to a magical night.

"That good in fact that I set up a regular monthly donation straight afterwards.

"Again a massive thank you, it really brightened Rory’s spirits which as his family made us all so happy.”

This weekend, a drive-in Christmas movie fundraising event was held at the Emirates Arena in the city to raise funds for the pediatric MediCinema screenings.
