A MAN has died after he was hit with a car in Glasgow's East End.
The 57-year-old was tragically killed after he was struck by a black BMW 4 series motor car while crossing Mount Vernon Avenue, near to Sherburn Garden on Wednesday at 5.50 pm.
Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 25 year-old driver of the BMW was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and later released pending further enquiries.
A report on this incident will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Andrew Mair, of the National Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street, is appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who was driving on the road around the time who has dash-cam footage, as they may be able to provide further information that will assist the ongoing police investigation.
