Rangers star Steven Davis has shared an adorable video of young son Cobi welcoming him home from international duty after captaining Northern Ireland to their first away friendly win in more than 13 years.

The Northern Ireland skipper played 65 minutes of the 3-2 win over the Czech Republic in Prague, but was clearly missed by his family as Cobi charges out of the house to meet the 34-year-old Ibrox hero walking up the drive.

The toddler excitedly squeals “Daddy,” before running up to be hoisted in the air by the Gers’ midfielder.

Davis, winning his 113th cap at the Generali Arena, captioned the video ‘the best welcome home’.

The video has since been widely shared by Rangers fans on social media, with one even commenting: “I wish he would lift me up like that”.

Davis was replaced by Corry Evans midway through the second half in the Czech capital, but not before seeing his side take a commanding 3-0 lead.

Goals from Vladimir Darida and Alex Kral reduced the deficit, but Northern Ireland hung on to claim their first friendly win on the road since a 2-1 victory over Finland in 2006.

Davis is expected to be included in the Gers’ squad to face Hearts this Sunday ahead of their crunch Europa League meeting away at Portuguese giants Porto next week.
