Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy are set to headline a festival in Glasgow next year as part of the 'The Hella Mega Tour' in Bellahouston Park.

The gig will take place on 24th June 2020 and will mark the long-awaited return of Green Day to Scotland.

The American rockers had been due to perform in Bellahouston Park in July 2017 but had the gig called off due to bad weather.

Following the cancellation, the band vowed to be back in a statement saying: "We love you Scotland, we love the city of Glasgow and it goes without saying that we will be back."

Fans in the city have continually requested the band's return.

Speculation around the Hella Mega tour had been rife with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong kicking off speculation after tagging Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Rivers Cuomo from Weezer in an Instagram post, with the copy "hella mega".

Glasgow music fans had already begun theorising over when the band could be coming to the city.

A live link on Youtube has gone live at 5pm showcasing full details of the tour across the world.

Weezer – who released ‘The Black Album’ earlier this year – are about to kick off the American leg of their tour.
