Scott Bain
The Cluj goal went through his legs, which no goalie likes, but in fairness it was hardly his fault. Steady under the high ball and took no chances with his kicking. Made an excellent save on his line just after half-time. 7
Hatem Elhamed
After an uneasy start when he was caught out of position twice and beaten on his wing, which almost led to a goal, the new man seriously grew into the game and his pass to Forrest for the equaliser was superb. He had a good, encouraging night. 7
Kristoffer Ajer
A superb block inside the six-yard box early on prevented an early goal. Wasn't perfect but the young Norwegian made four or five superb tackles in midfield ad well as defence. Might have done better with a late header. 7
Jozo Simunovic
Won some headers and lost a few as well. Too many clearances didn’t go far enough and Cluj did get a lot of joy when their frontmen ran off him. Subbed. 6

Boli Bolingioli
Oh dear. Was woeful at the goal, having failed to read what was going on when everyone else could see, and got booked for a silly tackle. He must get the basics right in defence because he almost everything wrong on an awful night. 3
Scott Brown
Never ventured too far out what was his area in the centre of things. Decided early on that his night was going to be about breaking up play and covering runs, which the captain did expertly. Made two great interventions inside his own six-yard box. 7
Callum McGregor
A top player at the top of his game. So many times he got the ball when tightly marked, his touch bought him space which allowed a pass to be played. Always clever with his passing and did his stuff at the back as well. Never stopped running. 8
Ryan Christie
What a footballer this lad has become. His running with the ball was superb, he enticed fouls and made ground almost every time in possession. Christie also got back to win the ball when it needed to be won. 8
James Forrest
His first goal of this season and the winger might not score a better one. His finish was perfect and on the weaker foot. His pace too much for Cluj and that's him scored a Celtic goal for the eleventh season in a row. 7

Lewis Morgan
A big night and he coped well enough. Has to work on his crosses but put in a shift and was hardly helped by the fact Bolingoli was having such a nightmare right beside him. Subbed. 6
Odsonne Edouard
Did what was asked of him. True, once or twice he should have passed but went on his own, at least the striker backs himself, but this was a good No9 performance from someone still learning the position. Lovely touch set-up Forrest. 7
Substitutes
Olivier Ntcham
Replaced Morgan on 67 minutes and helped see out the night. not much chance to impress. 5
Christopher Jullien
On for Simunovic with just over 15 to go. Not an easy game to come into but did his job. 5
Nir Bitton
Helped his team in the dying moments. 3
