A new timetable has come into force for trains across Scotland, with ScotRail promising thousands of extra seats daily on their services.
The rail operator says 20,000 seats are being added to routes, bringing the total number on a weekday to 625,000, an increase of 115,000 since 2015.
More high-speed trains and electric trains will also be introduced to lines across the country.

Electrification work on the Edinburgh to Glasgow via Shotts line has been completed allowing for more than 3,5000 extra seats on weekdays.
ScotRail operations director David Simpson said: “Sunday will see the introduction of timetable changes that will deliver even more improvements on Scotland’s railway, with the investment in new trains and infrastructure providing faster journeys, more seats and more services for our customers.

“We are now providing 115,000 extra seats every day since Abellio took over the franchise in 2015, and everyone across the ScotRail Alliance is working flat out to deliver the service that our customers expect and deserve.”

Routes where the class 385 electric trains are being introduced include the Glasgow to Lanark line, and from Glasgow/Edinburgh to Stirling, Alloa and Dunblane.
Older trains, class 314, will be withdrawn by the franchise.
