GLASGOW is gearing up to be as hot as Majorca this week as the mercury rises following a warm weekend.

The Met Office has said Glasgow and its surrounding areas will be warm and sunny - with temperatures set to hit highs of 23°C tomorrow - the same as the Spanish island of Majorca.

The weather forecaster has also issued the city with a “high sunburn risk” warning.

Today will be a dry and bright day with good sunny spells and feeling warmer than of late, predicts the national weather service, with the maximum temperature set to be 21°C.

Tuesday will be another dry, bright day with long spells of sunshine with minimum cloud cover, becoming warm “or even very warm.”

The mercury tomorrow will hit a roasting 23°C, with the Met Office warning Glaswegians of a “high sunburn risk.”

Wednesday is also set to be sunny and very warm, with this trend continuing on into Thursday.

Some rain may be possible on Friday, bringing the warm and sunny spell to a sad end.
