DRIVERS have been warned of potential traffic disruption on a busy Glasgow motorway this week.

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will be carrying out essential electrical repairs on the M8 Eastbound at Charing Cross tunnel from tomorrow.

A total overnight closure of the eastbound carriageway will be put in place.

The road will be shut from 10pm to 6am each night from Monday, April 8, until Sunday, April 14.

Aled Davies, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Lighting Engineer said: “We are planning these works for a total of six overnights to reduce disruption to commuters and business traffic.

"Scotland TranServ has worked in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders.

"As such, special access will be retained for emergency service vehicles throughout these works.”

Signed local diversions will be in place throughout these essential works.
