GLASGOW’S biggest bus operator will launch an internal probe after the Evening Times revealed shocking images showing drivers putting the public at risk by running red lights in the city centre.

Our Busted campaign is committed to cracking down on city bus drivers who drive dangerously by calling on bosses to take action.

We’re targeting the rogue drivers behind the wheel of public transport – from all firms – who are gambling with the lives of the city’s pedestrians.

Today we expose more bus bandits with more pictures and videos collected during our investigation showing buses flouting the law by jumping red lights.

Numerous buses were also captured parked illegally in yellow boxes which should be clear of any traffic.

The Evening Times is calling for an end to these irresponsible and reckless practices on public transport – and some firms are already listening.

Bosses at First Glasgow have confirmed they are taking the revelations “very seriously”, with an investigation to be carried out by the company.

Duncan Cameron, operations director for First Glasgow, said: “Our drivers are safe, professional drivers who face extremely challenging road environment on a daily basis.

“They are trained to the highest standards and benefit from a very proactive safety culture within First Glasgow.

“Any incidents of this nature are taken very seriously.

“The safety of our staff, customers and other road users will always be our top priority and we will now conduct our own internal investigation.”
