POLICE have appealed for information which could help them find an Airdrie schoolboy who has been missing for a week.
Declan Akelis, aged 15, was last seen on Monday, January 7 and is known to often visit the Burnbank area of Hamilton, Blantyre and East Kilbride.
The youngster has been described as having a stocky build, ruddy complexion and blue eyes.
He also has fair, currently shaved hair and was last seen wearing blue Nike tracksuit bottoms, a black North Face jacket and light grey Nike trainers.
Police Constable Brian McKinley, Hamilton Police Office, said: “Declan has been reported missing before and has previously been traced in Hamilton, Blantyre or East Kilbride – however he is only 15-years-old and as time goes on, we are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
“We do not believe that he has any money on him and is likely to be wearing the same clothes he was last seen in.
“Officers have been speaking to his family and friends in efforts to trace him and would appeal to anyone who knows of his whereabouts to get in touch.
“Declan, we would also ask you to get in touch and let us know where you are. We just want to make sure you are safe.”
Anyone with any information regarding Declan’s disappearance should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 2102 of Monday 7 January 2019.
