A woman is being treated for serious injuries to her face and hands after being discovered in Glasgow's East End.

The 29-year-old was rushed to Glasgow's Royal Infirmary after being found on London Road around 1.40am on Monday morning.

Two men aged 29 and 36-years-old were arrested and charged for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

It is understood that those arrested were not responsible for the attack.

Police said they were following a positive line of enquiry.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 1.40am on Monday, October 15, police were called to a report of woman with serious injuries on London Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and she was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
