THERE'S a new future in store for a former BHS branch.
The East Kilbride Shopping Centre branch has been lying empty since the firm went into administration in 2016.
Now Orion Capital Managers, represented jointly by Savills and Eric Young & Co, has let the retail space to TJ Hughes.
The retailer has agreed a 15-year lease for what will be the second only TJ Hughes in Scotland, joining that in Glasgow city centre, with East Kilbride and two others set to open before Christmas.
The deal follows a let to Flying Tiger, which has now opened adjacent to the future TJ Hughes store.
East Kilbride Shopping Centre is one of the largest retail and leisure destinations in Scotland with an annual footfall of more than 15 million.
It features Debenhams, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Primark with other retailers including Topshop, Zara, French Connection and H&M.
The centre also features a leisure hub that is home to Odeon Luxe, Pure Gym and numerous restaurants including Nando’s, Pizza Express and Chiquitos.
Richard Low of Orion Capital Managers said: “Footfall continues to rise thanks to these recent retail lettings and the ongoing success of the centre’s leisure hub.
"We are very excited about East Kilbride Shopping Centre’s upward trajectory.”
