A POPULAR takeaway near Glasgow has come under fire after a customer hoping to get an eye-popping munchy box as advertised received the complete opposite.

Twitter user @JokerBhoy67 took a screengrab of the calorific feast as Redstones Italian in Uddingston advertises it against what he actually received.

He wrote: “The Dream Vs Reality!! The Redstones making a f***** shambles of things here.”

Glasgow Times:

Posted on Sunday, it has received almost 200 reactions with many of his followers expressing their disappointment.

One said: “Gutted about this.”

Another added: “Aw no way man @ItaliaRedstones I was so excited about this and it’s all over before it even begun.”

“Poor show from @ItaliaRedstones that looks rank!!” was another comment.

The eatery first unveiled its Italian munchy box in a picture-perfect Facebook post just over a week ago, promising focaccia, mozzarella sticks, arancini, chicken strips, chips with either parmesan and chilli or cajun, onion rings, three dips and beer, all for £14.95.

Glasgow Times:

Locals went mad for the feast as the post received around 6,000 reactions.

Co-owner of the takeaway, George Tsamasfyris, admitted to the incident being an “embarrassing” blunder.

He said: “It doesn’t represent our business.

“We are in the process of contacting the individual because we were not aware this munchy box was sent out like that. We’re investigating and we’re going to offer him some vouchers or something.”

“There will be repercussions for the chef or manager who sent it out. We’re very reputable in the area for the quality of our food and service,” he added, reports The Scottish Sun.
