Popular burger chain Handmade Burger Co. have launched a 2 for 1 offer on vegan burgers this month.

The 'Veganuary' promotion will give vegans and those who's New Year's resolution was to become vegan an opportunity to enjoy a burger with their mate for half the price.

There is a wide range of vegan options on the restaurant's new and improved menu, these include the Cajun Vegetable and Bean burger, Veg-Mex with Mexican salsa, avocado and jalepinos, Falafel with a traditional spiced Moroccan relish, Sweet Potato and Bean with a mango and ginger salsa and the Thai Vegetable all served on a sourdough bun.

Handmade Burger Co. said: "Whether your thinking about animals, the environment, nutrition or health, give #veganuary a try."

Vegan's have already taken to social media to express their excitement about the offer with one twitter user @EmFenty posting a photo of her extremely long restaurant bill. She captioned the photo: "When @HandmadeBurger have a #Veganuary offer."

Another @nehsarin added: "@HandmadeBurger loved your #Veganuary #promotion Tex Mex burger is one of the best #burgers in town!!"

As reported by the Evening Times, Handmade Burger Co. collapsed into administration last summer resulting in two branches in the Glasgow area being closed

The intu Braehead and East Kilbride Leisure Hub branches were shut, making Silverburn shopping centre and St. Vincent Street restaurants the only in the city.

On a nationwide scale, the closures have resulted in 163 sudden job losses out of a total workforce of almost 700.
